SRF Artyfactors

Yep, it’s that time of year.  Every Saturday and Sunday from now until Faire.  Be at Faire site at 9:00am.

There are no scheduled Artyfactor work parties these two weekends. However, if you have some spare time and would like to go to Faire site, there is other pre/post Faire work that needs to be performed and other guilds would probably enjoy the help. Please contact Archer if you’re interested.

Okay, so.. officially, there’s some sort of work party at the Faire site every weekend until Faire.  If the Artyfactors aren’t officially doing something, the Faire is.

This weekend (on Sunday) we will be finishing up the trailer demolition.  Be there around 10-ish, and bring a picnic dish to share (I will bring hamburger and hot dog fixings) ..

Let’s get things started with a bang.

This Sunday, July 3, we will be having another work party. This time, however, instead of building something we’re going to destroy something. The Faire owns a number of beat-up old trailers. The intent has always been to break them down so that just the base frame remains so that we can build more appropriate things on top. Example: the ticket booth is exactly just sort of structure.

Well, one of the trailers has reached the point where it cannot even be moved in its current condition. So, we will be taking a Sawzall, pry bars, and other Weapons of Mess Destruction to this trailer. Yes, maybe even the Big Ass Mallet.

Bring work gloves, nuisance masks, and eye protection if you have them. Even if you don’t, bringing yourself in clothes you don’t care about will work. Be at Faire Site by 10:00am.

The deadline for me to have the forms is JULY 20. If I do not have forms for you by that date, you risk not being gatelisted.. and that’s a pain in the butt for everybody.

Okay, we’re going to be down at the Faire Site on Sunday for a small work party.

The goal of this work party is to pull stuff out of the trailer, inventory it, and figure out what needs be repaired and/or replaced. Should be a pretty easy, low-impact work party. I will have “volunteer forms” to fill out: everybody needs to fill one out every year, and we have to get them into Faire Office ASAP.

I will be there around 9:00am Sunday, probably until at least 2 or 3pm. I will bring hot dogs and snacky foods for lunch.

Be there, or be.. well, there some other weekend. See if I care.

We’re less than 90 days to Faire. You can pretty much assume that I’ll be somewhere near Faire site at least one day every week from now until .. well, until I’m there for Faire.

We’re actively working on the website this weekend.  So, things may be a little weird.  Stay tuned.
